Number one is they radiate positive energy, there is nothing more important in a team than the compassion and the will to succeed. Adding a positive leader is an important part of achieving that. Great leaders who radiate positive energy not only are more likeable but also more trustworthy. It also boosts the team's morale where countless studies have shown that positive relationships, morale and productivity increase when there is a proactive attitude. When something goes wrong it's easy to blame someone else instead on finding out why it happened. Great leaders put their focus entirely on solving the problem. I used to oversee the takeout service at the restaurant I worked at. Basically, people would call to place their order and my job was to make sure everything is packed and given to the right person. It was a busy restaurant. This one time when a customer came to pick up his food, I realized that we forgot to pack part of his order. I was fairly new at that time, and I didn't know what to do but luckily one of the owners of the restaurant was there. I explained to him what had happened, and he didn't blame me. He told me to call the customer and apologize for what had happened and then tell him that we will personally deliver the missing part of his order to his house. End of the day, the owner asked me on how we can prevent something like this from happening again, but he didn't address that when the problem was still unresolved. Great leaders know what to focus on at any given point in time. They are proactive and delegate tasks completely based on interest and skill. Great leaders realize that they can't do everything by themselves.
